SnapShot Freeze 2

Intelligent whole-heart motion correction

producthero-1200x400-snapshotfreeze2

Intelligent whole-heart motion correction

Addressing the challenge of motion in Cardiac CT

SnapShot Freeze 2 is an automated motion correction algorithm that freezes coronary arteries as well as corrects the motion within the entire heart, including valves, chambers, myocardium and great vessels.

The challenge of motion in Cardiac CT Imaging

Cardiac motion can influence the accurate assessment of coronary arteries, especially in patients with high or variable heart rates, or degrade the image quality for cardiac evaluation.

Technical developments in CT systems have improved the temporal resolution, including increased gantry rotation speeds, larger coverage or dual-source CT approach. However residual cardiac motion can remain and additional motion correction algorithm is needed.

Automated whole Heart Motion correction

SnapShot Freeze 2 is an automated motion correction algorithm that corrects not only the coronary artery motion but also corrects the motion within the entire heart such as the valves, myocardium, chambers and the great vessels.

Footnotes

*As demonstrated in phantom testing using a commercially available motion phantom with linear motion of variable velocity. The 6x improvement is referenced against images without application of Snapshot Freeze 2. Results may vary in clinical applications.

**Snapshot Freeze 2, in conjunction with 0.28s/rotation gantry speed, provides a reduction in coronary motion artifacts that is equivalent to a 0.047s/rotation equivalent gantry rotation speed with effective temporal resolution of 24 msec. As demonstrated in phantom testing using a commercially available motion phantom and also with a mathematical cardiac phantom with linear motion of variable velocity. The 0.047 s/rotation images are modeled without application of Snapshot Freeze 2. Results may vary in clinical applications.

SnapShot Freeze 2 is available on GE AW workstation 4.7 ext.18 (or later) or via the CT Smart Subscription Cardiology package.
